After visiting the Vatican city, we had about 4 hours to kill until our train back to Florence. So we decided to go to the Spanish steps which is right next to a Metro stop and hang around there for awhile. We found a nice restaurant to eat at and instantly looked at their cocktail menu. We all came to a consensus and decided to take our time at the restaurant because we had so much time remaining. We ordered drinks and calamari and after ordered our main courses which were either pizza or pasta. We then ordered another round of drinks and chatted away. We then suddenly realized the time.... 8:30 pm and our train was at 9:10 pm. We frantically used the bathroom, got the check, and left the restaurant. We fast walked towards the Metro and realized our train to Florence had been delayed til 9:17 pm. Luckily we got on a train and only had to go 3 stops so the Metro took us 10-15 minutes. Once exiting the Metro, it was 8:55 pm and we sprinted to our Airbnb where we left our bags. Even though our Airbnb was only 4 blocks away from the Metro and train station we had to sprint. Me and Matt sprinted up the stairs to get our bags as Tyra and Julia held the doors open. We all got our bags and sprinted our way back to the train station. We got to the train station at 9:04 pm but then we were stopped by policemen asking for our passports. He then asked what time our train was and we said 9:10 pm. He scanned our passports and we frantically ran to the entrance where you scan your ticket. After scanning we ran to platform 6 and kept running until we saw cart 10 and made it in the train. We found our seats and sat down, making it on the train. Right as we sat down the train moved, leaving at 9:10 pm. The app told us that our train was delayed, but it wasn't. The train left punctually at 9:10 pm as we sat there in our seats breathing heavily in relief.
